Jenna Snyder-Phillips was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At age 19 she moved to New York to attend Parsons School of Design where she studied interior design and architecture. Upon graduation Jenna worked for Ian Schrager Company assisting the Art Curator of the Gramercy Park Hotel. Hanging paintings by the likes of Julian Schnabel, she experienced first hand how artwork can transform a space. In 2006 Jenna moved to Milan, Italy where she traveled studying interiors and art history while obtaining her Masters in Interior Design.
Currently, Jenna resides in New York and paints from her Tribeca studio. Working in sumi ink, oil and charcoal, she pushes her materials to their limits. Her signature style includes strong, fluid brush strokes juxtaposed by harsh lines, and blending sketching, drawing and painting techniques. The physical nature of her gestural painting lends itself perfectly to living subjects, which range from nude figures to wildlife.
Jenna has worked with top interior designers and paintings are sold at Area ID, Flair in New York and Haus in Los Angeles.
